Visitors to the ninth annual Torrington Gun Show watched attentively as Dan Gordon (seated) showcased one of the firearms he had for sale. Gordon hails from Drumheller and has missed only one year since the Gun Show began because he didn’t book his spot in time.

“[You] gotta book it in February to get in,” explained Gordon. “He does a great job of advertising,” Gordon said of the show organizer Stan Taylor. According to Taylor, 50 vendors had 108 tables at this year’s show, which is just the right number to allow lots of room for both vendors and visitors.

The show has a great reputation among vendors and there are always new vendors hoping to attend the show.

So much so that Taylor surveyed vendors about five years ago to see if they wanted to allow more vendors but 75 per cent responded they would prefer to leave the show as is.

The show typically draws over 1200 visitors over two days to the hamlet of about 180 people.  ECA Review/D.Johnston
