Clarice Delia Nicoud passed away peacefully on April 6, 2011. Clarice was born of January 7, 1927 in Coronation and came to Calgary in 1950 to train as a nurse at the Holy Cross Hospital.
She worked at the Calgary General Hospital and was the head nurse of the psychiatric unit until she retired in 1984.
Clarice was the last of nine siblings and is survived by one brother-in-law, Francis Suntjens, her cousin Marguerite Dodds-Belanger and by her many nieces and nephews who admired her spirit and will miss her dearly. Clarice loved life, new experiences and family occasions. She will also be missed by her many friends she made over the years and new acquaintances she made at the Boardwalk Campus Towers senior residence.
A funeral service will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 – 4 Street N.W. Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at the Mountain View Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to Tom Baker Cancer Centre, 1331 – 29 Street N.W. Calgary, Ab T2N 1B8.
She would want us to thank the doctors and staff at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre and the home care nurses who supported her through her long battle with ovarian cancer.
