Morrin Fire Department had a busy Easter weekend with two call-outs on Sat. April 3.

Starting the afternoon off, the crew assisted Rumsey Fire Department with a medium-sized grass fire  in the south east corner of their division.

Morrin members noticed the smoke so they self-dispatched  at approximately 3:30 p.m to the situation to ensure safety with these dry conditions the prairies are facing.

“We just felt that the more hands on deck the better, due to conditions,” said Morrin Fire Chief Darcy Davidson.

The crew was back in service at approximately 9 p.m.

As they were cleaning up from this fire, a second came in for a small structure fire northwest of Morrin in a shed.

Members were able to attend in under five minutes as many were still at the hall.

Munson Fire Department attended as mutual aid on this and many locals also helped at both fires .

Equipment losses were at a minimum.

No injuries occurred in either situation.
