William George Miller known as Willie, passed away at Coronation Hospital on January 10, 2014 at the age of 76 years.

Willie was born in Coronation on September 4, 1937 to William and Agnes Miller. Willie had two older sisters, Agnes and Patricia and a younger brother Gordon.

The family lived on the farm which had previously been the original George Johnson homestead. Willie attended Clinton School with his siblings until 1950 when the school was closed because of low attendance.  In the fall of 1950, Willie and his brother began attending Coronation School. During this time however, his father fell ill and Willie had to quit school to look after the farm which was getting to be too much for his mother to look after by herself.

He continued to farm there until 2004 when he fell and broke his hip. It was at that time that he purchased a home in Coronation where he lived with his brother Gordon in the winter months and returned to the farm in the summer.

Willie loved the farm, his Jersey cows and all of the great things that go along with country living.

Willie is survived by eight nieces and nephews in Wallaceburg, Ontario and all of their families as well as cousins in Maple Ridge, B.C. and Northern Ireland; also a nephew, great niece and great nephew of Coronation.

Willie was predeceased by his father William in 1965, mother Agnes in 1990, sister Agnes Bray (Wallaceburg, ON) in 2003, sister Patricia Oke (Joffre) in 2003, niece Leslie Heidecker and by his brother Gordon in 2012.

A funeral service was held at the Trinity United Church on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Barbara Zimmerman officiating. Willie was then laid to rest in the Coronation cemetery with Cliff Cline, Zane Glasier, George Glasier, Claud Zinger, Terry Heidecker and Dwight Woody as pallbearers.

A time of fellowship followed in the Trinity United Church. As an expression of sympathy and in loving memory of Willie, memorial contributions may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Trinity United Church in care of Coronation Funeral Home P.O.
