Edwin Vern Miller
1942 – 2019

It is with deep sadness that the family of Edwin Miller announces his passing on Mar. 11, 2019 at the age of 76.

Edwin passed away from a long health battle in the Red Deer Regional Hospital.

Edwin was born in Prelate, Sk. to Peter and Margaret Miller on June 9, 1942.

Edwin had four siblings: Tony (deceased), Raymond, Donald (Gail) and Rose. Edwin grew up on the family farm and went to school in Fox Valley, Sk.

He married Iris Hunter in 1964 and together they had five children: Sheila (Tim), Stuart (Kathy), Sharon, Sandra (Kevin) and Sheldon.

Soon his family grew with seven grandchildren: David, Amber, Carrie, Ryan, Sarah, Mathew, and Kali; and six great-grandchildren: Kaden, Henery, Everet, Greyson, Violet, and Sophia.

After the passing of his wife Iris in 1992, Dad met and married Charlotte Scheur in 1995.

To this family union, Edwin became a stepson to Charlotte’s mom Heather; step-father to Sharon (Steve), Stefan and Vincent; stepgrandfather to Natalie, Isabel and Lacey.

Edwin worked at various places over the years but he loved being a farm hand and finally a grader operator, which he took great pride in.

Edwin enjoyed baseball, snowmobiling and camping at Cypress Hills.

We are going to miss him dearly.

A funeral service will be held on Sat. March 23, 2019, 11 a.m. at St. George’s Catholic Church in Hanna, Ab. Interment will take place at St. George’s Cemetery immediately following the service.

Donations in memory of Edwin are gratefully accepted to a charity of one’s choice.
