Prairie Tabernacle Congregation Board Chair Albert Ehmann, right, was one of many well-wishers to congratulate Anna Douglas for her 105th birthday in Three Hills. Comfortably parked in the church foyer not far from the coffee and cake table after the service on Sun. Nov. 26, Mrs. Douglas was still glowing from her first-ever drum concert, a video-taped special event that saw her accompanied on piano by son Trevor, left. ECA Review/D. Nadeau

Born near Hanna, Alta. in 1918, Mrs. Anna Douglas and her late husband Alban, had four children and served in ministry in Canada, China and the Philippines for many years.

“Mom’s involvement in missions continues to this day through supporting missionaries and praying for them,” said her son Trevor.

When asked to what she attributes her long life, Mrs. Douglas said she just obeyed the Bible verse, “In everything give thanks” something she has always done, even when bad things happened.

Daughter Heather said, “Mother’s most endearing quality is her sense of humour.” Said her daughter Heather. “She loves to laugh and tell jokes.”
