The Metiskow & District Ag. Society hosted the third annual Metiskow Horse Show on July 8 at the Metiskow Multi-plex.
People in the Provost and surrounding area wished there was an equine event in the area, so Debbie and Katrina Ganser decided to organize a horse show.
This show is for all ages and this year, the youngest exhibitor was three years old and the oldest were in their 60’s.
All experience levels were welcomed ranging from novice riders/drivers to more experienced, from recreational/pleasure riders/drivers to riders and drivers that are more advanced.
Exhibitors travelled from Unity, Senlac, Cactus Lake, and Macklin, all in Saskatchewan and Alberta communities including Alliance, Halkirk, Lloydminster, Chauvin, Vermillion, Edgerton, Wainwright, Provost and Metiskow.
The horse show included Halter classes, Showmanship, English and Western Classes, Trail, Open Costume Class, Leadline and Walk/Trot, Driving Classes, and Gymkhana.
While classes where occurring inside the Multi-plex, the trail classes were going on at the same time outside, so exhibitors who were waiting to show in their classes were able to complete their trail class before their next class began.
The judges this year were BJ Wolfe from Biggar, Sk. and the trail judge was J.S. Pipke from Unity. Ring Steward was Darcie Colon from Marsden, Sk.
