Ralph Gordon McLarty died June 17, 2015 at his home in Coronation at the age of 53.
Celebration of Ralph’s life, was held Tuesday, June 23, 2015 2 p.m. at the Coronation Community Hall. Interment at Coronation Cemetery followed service.
Ralph Gordon McLarty was born August 19, 1961 in Coronation, Alberta to Gordon and Shirley McLarty. He was the second born of four children. His first 10 years were on the farm near Silver Heights. He started school in Brownfield through Grade 4.
The family moved to Coronation in 1971 where Ralph continued schooling, he graduated from Grade 12 in 1979.
Ralph worked in several different jobs throughout his life; some for short term, some for several years. He gained many experiences, knowledge and friends wherever he was. His employment included: Coronation Co-op, Coronation Tire & Rubber, Drylander Farms, Hewitt Farms, Lyle Bridge Fabricating, Hampton Oilfield, Alberta Wheat Pool (Halkirk, Empress and Sedgewick), Bergums Oilfield, M&N Construction, Rindal Oilfield Construction, Maverick Oilfield Services and at his passing he was working for F5 Services in Hardisty as dispatcher and safety officer.
Although Ralph was a man of few words (usually); he enjoyed people; children were often drawn to Ralph for his kind, gentle teasing manner. In his young adulthood he was a team roper, enjoyed horses and the rodeo scene. He had a passion for curling and golfing, he was good at both. He was involved in the Curling and Golf Clubs in the communities he lived and had a talent for being the draw master for bonspiels and tournaments.
Ralph will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by his parents Gordon and Shirley; sisters Lynette and Charlene (Gordon) Musgrove; brother Keith; nephew Jeffrey (Stephanie); nieces Erin (Troy) Freadrich and children Claire and Nolan and Kari (Mark) Rogenski. Many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Ralph was predeceased by his grandparents Arne and Ruby Kristiansen and Jack and Ella McLarty.
Memorial donations in honour of Ralph, are gratefully accepted to Trinity United Church, Coronation or to the charity of the donors choice.
Funeral services were held June 23, 2015 at the Coronation Community Centre, Coronation, AB with burial at Coronation Cemetery.
