Eldon was born to parents Bryce and Alice McCrindle.
He grew up on the family farm with brothers Gary and Tom.
He attended school in Byemoor, Alta.
The school bus was a station wagon in the summer and a team and sleigh in the winter.
His lunch box was a Rogers Syrup pail.
Eldon worked on the local threshing crew and as a hired man for several farmers in the area.
He then worked for the County of Stettler building roads, ran a grader on the gravel crew and eventually worked running the entire gravel crew.
He was with the County of Stettler for over 20 years.
In June of 1969, Eldon married Sharon James and they were blessed with three children: Vicki, Darlene and Heath.
Eldon loved playing many sports including baseball, fastball, curling, hockey and slow-pitch.
He also coached several sports teams and taught most of the children in the community how to curl.
Eldon loved all animals but took great pride in his cattle herd.
Eldon and Sharon worked very hard to build their farm into the successful operation they have today.
Eldon is survived by his loving family: wife of 52 years, Sharon McCrindle; daughters Vicki (Earl) Flynn and Darlene (Winston) Webb; and son Heath (Angie) McCrindle and grandchildren: Riley Flynn, Sydney Flynn, Logan Webb, Mason Webb, Bryce McCrindle and Kenzie McCrindle.
