Bryce was born Nov. 5, 1925 at home in Cadogan, Ab.  He was one of nine children born to James and Dorothy Mailer.
Bryce had a happy childhood even though times were hard.  He attended Black Hills School.
On June 2, 1950 he married Verna Theaker and they made their home on a ranch south of Gadsby, Ab. They had eight children; Bev, Robyn, Rod, Byron, Karen, Lewis, Maureen and John.
They had a busy life raising their children and were fortunate to spend 66 years together.
Bryce passed away peacefully on Dec. 8, 2016 at Heritage House Long Term Care at 91 years of age.
Bryce leaves to mourn his wife Verna, children; Bev (Sherry), Robyn (Barry), (Cathy), Byron (Maureen), Lewis (Vicki), grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters-in-law Victoria, Joan, Jean and brother-in-law Jack and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours.
Bryce was predeceased by children; Rod, Karen, Maureen, and John; daughter-in-law Joyce, grandchildren Terra and Kristin, brothers and sisters and in-law.
Funeral services were held at the Stettler Community Hall on Wed., Dec. 14, 2016 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Jack Schulze officiating.
Pianist Evelyn Strandquist and leader of song Evelyn Shursen offered their gifts of music.
Granddaughters Marsha, Elysa, Jessica and Carmen gave loving tributes of their memories; several friends and neighbours came forward and presented their own memories of Bryce.
Interment was held at Omega Cemetery in Gadsby with pallbearers being his loving grandchildren: Charla, Luke, Matt, Kyle, Grant and Ryan.
Family and friends gathered for a time of fellowship and a luncheon by Teresa’s Catering.
