Magical performance by Lizzy Hoyt coming to Stettler


Lizzy Hoyt, one of Canada’s most exciting Celtic-folk artists, is an award-winning songwriter, storyteller and multi-instrumentalist (master of fiddle, guitar and harp), with the voice of an angel.

She delivers music with soaring melodies rooted in the Celtic-folk tradition while uniting traditional and modern stylings.

Hoyt is known for bringing Canadian history to life through music and was the winner of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee medal for her contributions commemorating

Canadian Veterans and history through her music.

On Sun. Dec. 8 at Stettler’s Performing Arts Centre, Lizzy Hoyt will celebrate Christmas by delivering a magical performance of Ancient Carols for a Winter’s Night.

The audience will hear well-known carols and hidden gems along with some of her large repertoire of music, in a mixture of songs and instrumental numbers including lively fiddle tunes and haunting harp melodies, arranged by Lizzy for her trio.

Come and welcome the season with Stettler Variety Showcase and Lizzy Hoyt. Shows are at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
