Mac was a true original

David (Mac) Bruce MacNaughton, born July 20, 1953 died at home Dec. 31, 2022 at age 69.

He was predeceased by his parents, survived by his loving brothers and sisters Ann (Jerry), Patty, Pam, Cam (Deb), Mark (Carol) and John (Carolyn), his nephews, nieces and cousins and his life-long friend Ken Graham.

Mac’s home was Stettler. He was a true entrepreneur and had various careers in his lifetime but all performed with a flair and style that was truly unique to Mac. He was a skilled butcher, travel agent and lastly, realtor.

He had many enthusiasms and was competitive in all. Mac excelled at baseball, badminton, tennis, ping pong, hockey and pool. He also played bridge, poker and crib. Mac read widely and voraciously.

He had the rare skill to meet a stranger and make them feel comfortable, evidenced by the many who would drop in for a visit. You would be greeted with, “What’s happening”, “Get the crib board”, “Grab a coffee” and “Be prepared to lose some money”.

He was intelligent and quick-witted, daring, rebellious, loyal to his friends and family, amusing and mischievous, open-hearted and generous whenever he could be. Mac was a true original and will be missed.

Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.stettlerfuneralhome.com.

Stettler Funeral Home & Crematorium entrusted with the care and arrangement, 403-742-3422.
