Dear Editor,
My name is Pieter Valkenburg. I am a Dutch-born Canadian and live on Prince Edward Island. I am also a member of The Royal Canadian Legion.
Over the past nine years, I have been helping the researchers at the Canadian War Cemeteries in The Netherlands in their quest to put a face and story to every grave.
I am looking for a picture of WW2 soldier Thomas Alfred BROWN. Thomas was born Oct. 20 1924 in Altario, Alberta. His parents were George Stuart and Alice Brown. His father died in 1927 and his mother remarried to Leslie H. Walker.
At the time of his enlistment, he gave Kirriemuir, Alberta as his address. He was Killed in Action on Feb. 17, 1945 in The Netherlands.
At the time of his death, he was serving with The Royal Winnipeg Rifles.
He had a sister named Alice Mary Brown (married name Formanac) who at the time of his death was living in Pemukan and a half-sister Marion Elizabeth Walker who lived with her parents in Kirriemuir.
I am trying to find relatives and also wonder if an obituary was published around the time of his death.
Any photos or info can be sent to me at memorialtrail@gmail.com.
