Local independent film director and producer James Reckseidler’s locally filmed “The Ties that Bind” has been nominated for four awards at this year’s Alberta Motion Picture Industry Association Rosie Awards Ceremony.
The event is to be held in Calgary on Oct. 19. 2024.
The Ties that Bind, a compelling thriller set in the 1930’s in rural Alberta used the Village of Delburne as its primary location and the film’s setting, while also being filmed in Edmonton and film sets outside of Cochrane.
It depicts family conflict and murder during the Social Credit era.
Using nostalgic scenes, vintage automobiles and historic buildings in the area, the times were also brought to life by a stunningly talented cast and supported by local talent as actors and background.
The film is nominated in four categories: Best Scripted Feature Film (over 30 minutes); Best Director- James Reckseidler; Best Male Performer- Ryan Northcott and Best Cinematography – Aaron Bernakevitch and Phillip Earl Bowen.
