Lippert

Leonard Bernard Lippert of Lousana, Alta. was born on his grandparents farm near Lousana on April 4, 1938. He passed away peacefully at home on the farm near Lousana on Sept. 24, 2024 at the age of 86.

Len attended the Fairbanks School. He farmed all his life, at first with his dad then with his sons. When he was young and not seeding or harvesting, he worked for Canadian Western Natural Gas Company, Wells Construction, operated a DW21 Buggy between Calgary and Banff, was a shooter’s helper for United Geophysical and a water well driller for Mr. F.T. Green.

Len and Betty Dahl were married on Jan. 29, 1963. They raised two sons, Brian and Dwain.
Len was predeceased by his parents, Ted and Helen Lippert, and brother-in-law Bob Jewell.
He is survived by his wife Betty and sons: Brian (Sherri) and Dwain (Diana); grandchildren, Taryn (Justin), Bryanna (Erik), Brandin (Katelin), Dalton (Robyn), Dillon (Mykaela), and Darby; great-grandchildren, Jaiden, Lazirah, Preston and Kinsley Hermary-Szumlas; Kamilo and Amelliana Sibrian.

Also by sisters: Dorene Jewell, Ruby (Bruce) Feil, Phyllis (Les) Burns and many nephews, nieces and cousins.

Len was a hard worker, proud of his family and of the farm and the improvements he made over the years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farm life, nature and especially trips “out west”.

A Celebration of Len’s Life” will take place on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2024 at 1 p.m. at the Lousana Community Hall, Lousana, Alta. Donations in memory of Len may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Kneehill Funeral Services, Trochu, entrusted with arrangements, 403-442-2123.
