Killam RCMP execute search warrant in Forestburg

Killam RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence in Forestburg after receiving information from the general public about theft of copper wire in the area on Thurs. Oct. 10.

As a safety precaution, Forestburg School was placed on a hold and secure for a short period of time while the search warrant was executed.

Two adults were arrested without incident.

27-year-old Meggan Cole of Forestburg, Alta. was released from custody on her own recognizance for court in Killam on Nov. 5, 2019 at 10 a.m.

She is charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000, possession of weapon obtained by crime, unauthorized possession of a firearm, unsafe storage of firearms, and careless use of a firearm.

31-year-old Gordon Sinclair of no fixed address was released from custody on his own recognizance for court in Killam Provincial Court on Nov. 5, 2019 at 10 a.m.

He is charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000, careless use of a firearm, unsafe storage of firearms, possession of weapon obtained by crime, and fail to comply with an undertaking.

Items recovered included copper wire, copper, golf bags, a shotgun, a sword, a concrete saw and a generator as well as numerous other tools.
