Killam-Forestburg RCMP investigate helicopter crash north of Daysland

Killam-Forestburg RCMP were alerted to a red Bell 206B helicopter having crashed in a wooded area near Range Road 161 and Township Road 462 in Flagstaff County on Jan. 23, 2022, at approximately 10 a.m.

Killam-Forestburg RCMP with Viking RCMP, EMS, as well as, the Daysland and Killam Fire Departments attended the scene.

Three of the four occupants on board were transported by ground ambulance to area hospitals for their injuries.

 A fourth occupant was transported to an Edmonton hospital by STARS Air Ambulance.

RCMP with the assistance of the Daysland and Killam Fire Departments held the scene pending the arrival of the Transportation Safety Board.

The Transportation Safety Board will be conducting an investigation into the cause of the crash. 

No further updates are anticipated.
