The Junior Boys Basketball tournament in Kitscoty began on Fri., March 6.

The first game of the day was between the Hughenden Wildcats and the Provost Panthers. Although it was a close game, Provost came out on top with a final score of 20 to 34.

When asked what he thought of the first game, Mason Nickerson of the Hughenden Wildcats said, “The Panthers fought hard and came out victorious. I just think we got a little cocky.”

Between games, Kitscoty Public School offered players and spectators a concession stand to get something to eat before their next game.

The next day the Hughenden Wildcats went on to play the Chauvin Cavaliers.

The Hughenden Wildcats came out on top of that one with a score of 48 – 11.

Dante Fletcher of the Hughenden Wildcats said, “We performed well, although I think we messed up some of our plays.”

Although many of the scores were not close, there was still a sense of intensity throughout the whole tournament.
