Join Forces Operation watching Long Weekend traffic

Written by ECA Review

With the long weekend now upon us and the ability for people to take a break from COVID at campgrounds it is expected that the highways are going to be very busy.

As such, the Hanna RCMP, Oyen RCMP and Special Areas Peace Officers will be conducting a Joint Forces Operation to prevent bad driving behaviour through enforcement.

The Joint Forces Operation will be starting Thurs. May 14, and going through until Mon. May 18.

Speeding, distracted driving, careless driving among other offences will all be enforced stringently throughout the weekend.

We would also like to remind people the regulations regarding public gatherings and social distancing still apply and would ask that people police themselves in this regard.

If we have to become involved we will but we would prefer everyone to have an enjoyable weekend without having to deal with us.
