Janz
Gerhard Arno Janz was born on Aug. 10, 1939 in Lakendorf, East Prussia. He passed away Sept. 8, 2021.
In 1951, at the age of 12, Gerhard along with his parents and brothers immigrated to Canada making Calgary, Alta. their home.
Teaching was his calling and he thoroughly enjoyed his interaction with his students.
His commitment to his Lord and Saviour kept him active in the churches he attended.
On June 1, 1962 he was united in marriage to Esther Jantzen. This marriage was blessed with three children: Patricia, Kent and Jeffery.
Gerhard will be sadly missed by his beloved wife, Esther; children: Pat (Rick) Reinhart, Kent (Jodi) Janz, Jeff (Kristi) Janz; his grandchildren Rachelle Reinhart, Shane Reinhart, Taylor Janz, Garrett Janz, Kendra Janz, Matthew Janz and brother Alfred (Ingrid) Janz as well as numerous relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents Bernhard and Erna Janz, brothers Helmut Janz, Art Janz, Kurt Janz, Henry Janz, his parents-in-law, three sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law.
A Celebration of Life was held on Wed. Sept. 15, at 1 p.m. at McDougal Chapel, Sundre, Alta.
In memory of Gerhard’s life, donations may be made to M.C.C., Voice of the Martyrs or to a charity of choice.
