The Imperial Order Daughters of the Empire (IODE) Frontenac Chapter in Stettler presented long-time member, Elpha Senft with an IODE Primary Life Membership on Oct. 7, 2024.

Senft, who recently turned 95 years old, has been an active member of IODE Frontenac for 36 years. She has held many executive positions in the local chapter and has been highly involved in IODE projects within Stettler town and county such as school awards presentations, charity knitting and quilting projects, and the rummage sale which ran for many years.

A Life Membership is granted for outstanding service over a number of years and is the highest honour a chapter can give to a member.

IODE Frontenac has actively supported students, teams and many charities and organizations in the Stettler community for 97 years.

The chapter came close to folding this past spring but an influx of 12 new members, some of them recruited by Senft, has kept the organization going strong and they were recently able to present two awards at the William E. Hay Secondary Campus’ fall awards night.
