The building committee for the Alliance Multiplex is relieved to have a grant from the Ministry of Western Economic Development under the Community Infrastructures Improvement  Fund  for $36,892.  This is a matching grant which will see the kitchen, flooring, bleachers and sidewalks completed.
The ice is going into the arena.  Snow has been made on the ski hill on the days when it was cold enough.
There is a board to look after the new Multiplex.  It is the Alliance Community Multiplex Operations Board.   The board has arranged for the CFCW Crazy Critters to come to Alliance on Thursday, January 31  to play a fundraiser hockey game.  Watch for further details.

Skating fees and rent for the Multiplex can be paid at the Village Office. If you only skate occasionally, there is a donation box  near the player’s box.
The wind generators for the power project  near Halkirk are visible from many parts of our area and by night the red lights can be seen flashing.
The Ag Society had their annual meeting on November 6 in the Community Hall.  Alvin Miller is president, Laura Towers is secretary/treasurer, Tracy Rombough is the new caretaker.  The Ag Society will be holding a turkey curl during Santa Daze.
Isabelle LaVesque has been in town for a few days getting her rental house ready for a new tenant.
Congratulations to Nathan and Tammy Lindquist on the birth of a son.  Parker Nate Lindquist was born October 25 in Edmonton.  Congratulations to grandparents Bob and Linda Borson of Alliance and Sina and Victor Lindquist of Viking.
Welcome to Rocky Bishop fiancé Ashley.  They bought the Guhl acreage.  Rocky is a welder who works out of town.  Ashley is involved with horses and is the newest member of the United Church choir.
There was night time shopping in Alliance on Thursday.  Main Street Medley celebrated the grand opening of the new facility. Doris Spady won the door prize.
Margaret Thomas is now in the Health Care Center in Hardisty although she would like to be in Killam and will be when there is room available.
The 4th Annual Alliance Community Christmas Concert will be held on Wednesday, December 19 at the United Church.  I am responsible for booking the acts so please let me know what you would  like to do.
