Hungry?: Man enters Stettler home in attempt to make a sandwich

Stettler RCMP received a call of a male leaving a resident’s home after attempting to make a sandwich prior to his encounter with the owner.

On Aug. 16, at approximately 3 p.m., the homeowner and the male spoke briefly before the male left the area on foot.

The local RCMP located 27-year-old Trevor Reid, arresting him for Being Unlawfully in a Dwelling House.

Mr. Reid was believed to be intoxicated by a drug at the time of this incident.

His next court appearance on this matter is September 26, 2019, in Stettler.

He faces the above mentioned charge as well as failing to comply with conditions of a previously issued court document.

Stettler RCMP reminds residents to secure their homes when leaving them unattended to prevent situations such as this.

“It’s a little unique isn’t it?” said Stettler Staff Sgt. Phil Penny. “It helps reinforce to lock your doors when you are not at home. That is part of the solution towards crime prevention.”
