Carol (Untch) Hulkovich passed away peacefully on June 23, 2019. Carol was born in Castor, Alta. on September 19, 1947.
She started school in a one room schoolhouse called Lake Thelma, then switched to Coronation School in Grade 3.
After graduating Grade 12 she went to NAIT to become an X-Ray Technician then worked at the Stettler Hospital.
Carol married Jim Hulkovich in 1969 and they bought a house in Stettler.
They travelled extensively taking holidays in the winter and they went camping every chance they had in the summer months.
Friends and family were very important to Carol and she always welcomed their visits.
Although she had no children of their own, she had lots of love for many nieces and nephews.
She was the kindest and gentlest person I have ever known.
She always had a dog or two and they were always with her and Jim until both Jim and Carol became too ill to look after them.
Carol did all sorts of crafts, macrame, ceramics, afghans and many others.
She stayed at home until Jim could no longer look after her needs, then she moved into Heritage House in Stettler, where she remained until her passing.
Carol was diagnosed with MS but that did not dampen her spirit.
She always was a glass half full personality.
She was an inspiration to everyone she touched in her life.
Carol would want her friends and family to live their lives to the fullest.
She will always be with us, in our hearts and our memories.
Carol was predeceased by her husband Jim; parents Betty and Albert Untch; brothers-in-law Douglas Arnold and Chris Orriss.
She is survived by her sisters: Virginia Arnold, Diane (George) Hughes, Dixie Orriss and very close nephew Chris Schrauwen and his family as well as many numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be no funeral service per Carol’s request.
