Highway 41 Pheasant Festival

Myra (left) and Nevada Murray pose with their father, George Murray (left) of Consort, Ab. and uncle, Dylan Douglas of Lanthom, Ab., who were two members on one of the 23, eight person teams that took part in the second annual Highway 41 Pheasant Festival held on Oct. 21, 2017. The event not only raised funds for community projects like the Consort pool and a playground in Oyen, Ab., but it also saw over 1000 roosters released onto farmlands that ranged between Acadia Valley and Consort to help reintroduce the birds into the area. A banquet, which was held in Consort, Ab. this year, concluded the all-day hunt with over 250 people in attendance.  ECA Review/D.Clark
