Dear Editor,
Pat and I want to give a shout out to all involved in bringing the U 18 Provincial Baseball Tournament to Castor.
It was a wonderful weekend of very impressive baseball. So many great plays and very few errors.
Sure, losing the Gold Medal game to Calgary by one run stings, but from what I saw everyone gave everything they had.
Of the four Castor games I saw, never once did I see poor sportsmanship from either team. No bad language, arguing balls and strikes or questioning close calls. A credit to both players and coaches.
A pleasure to watch. The stands were packed and cars parked everywhere. It was great to see something positive in these days of negativity.
The town employees had the diamond, bleachers and surrounding area in top shape. A great showcase for our pretty little town.
A big thank you to the coaches who gave up a lot of the summer to make this happen. As my wife would say, you put an old ball player in his happy place!
