Gus Wetter archers place fifth overall in provincial championship

The Gus Wetter Raider Archery Team participated in the National Archery in the Schools Program Provincial Championships Fri. March 18. This tournament was held in conjunction with the Edmonton Boat and Outdoorsman Show at the Edmonton Expo Centre from March 17-20.

Just over 1,000 archers from Grades 3 through 12 participated in the four-day tournament, representing 47 schools from around the province.

Top 10 finishes for Gus Wetter archers were: Maddox Hronek – 2nd in Grade 6 Boys; Aven Downey – 4th in Grade 5 Girls and 4th Overall in Elementary Girls; Lucy Weeks – 5th in Grade 5 Girls and 6th Overall in Elementary Girls; Jayda Stirling – 8th in Grade 5 Girls and Jehlyn Stirling – 9th in Grade 11 Girls.

Gus Wetter School placed 5th Overall in Individual Team Standings.
