Dear Editor:
In regard to the opinion titled ‘Free Speech is free as long as a person doesn’t lie’, ECA Review, March 23, pg. 2, the writer talks about Mr. Trump encouraging his followers to do violence.
I listened to Mr. Trump’s speech and he told the crowd to ‘peacefully’ go to the Capitol and there was certainly no insurrection in my opinion.
I do not agree with some of the actions taken that day but it was peaceful in my opinion, except for the murder of an unarmed young military lady by a Capitol police officer with a known record of police brutality – unlike the riots instigated by ANTIFA and Black Lives Matter.
I am shocked that some believe that white nationalists wanted to kidnap the Governor of Michigan. In my opinion, it was the FBI who tried to incite people to kidnap her and they refused. Also, Oath Keepers is basically made up of veterans and certainly not a white supremacy group and the KKK are primarily democrats. It was the democrats who were the slave owners.
I may not agree with Tucker Carlson on all things but he is certainly a great deal more honest than most media presenters.
I agree that without rules, laws and regulations we would have anarchy. However, look at our country, Mr. Trudeau constantly breaks the law and gets away with it.
The government is still promoting that ‘the vaccine is safe and effective’ when there is a mountain of evidence, in my opinion, to show this is a lie.
My greatest concern is the growth of fascism in this country – headed by Mr. Trudeau and Ms. Freeland.
Read how Hitler gradually took away the freedoms of the German people and pitted neighbour against neighbour.
I see the same tactics being used here. I spent the first 18 months of my life in and out of an air-raid shelter and I do not want this for my grandchildren.
I urge people to do their own research and learn the truth. It is time for all Canadians to wake up.
