Jenny Gordon
Jenny Gordon passed away in the early hours of Oct. 29, 2022 at the age of 93.
Jenny was born on May 7, 1929 in Standard, Alta. to Nikolai and Katrina Beck. She was the fourth of seven children. The family lived north of Cluny, Alta. where Jenny attended the local rural school. After high school graduation Jenny enrolled in normal school in Calgary to become a teacher.
Her first position was in Swalwell, Alta. and it was there she met John Gordon at a local dance and six weeks later on Aug. 6, 1951 she and John were married.
The couple lived on the Gordon family farm and Jenny taught school in Carbon, Alta. until the birth of their first son Daniel followed by David and then Craig.
They lived on the farm north of Carbon until 1994 when Jenny was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. They then bought a house in Stettler and started a new journey. They lived in their own house until 2013 when they moved to Points West Living in Stettler.
Jenny was predeceased by her parents, her siblings: Svend, Agnes, Katie, Dorothy and Bill, her husband John and her son Dan.
Jenny is survived by her younger sister Kris, Dan’s wife Colleen, sons: Dave (Betty Ann), Craig (Lori), eight grandchildren whom were her hearts delight and five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Jenny‘s wishes, no formal service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alberta Diabetes Foundation at 1-020 Li Ka Shing Center, 8602-112 St, Edmonton Alta. T6G 2E1 or the donor’s choice.
