Dick Thomas of Castor, AB began fur trading for the Hudson’s Bay Company at 18 years old in 1947 in Lac la Ronge, SK. Thomas spent five years in the fur trading business, managing posts all along the Mackenzie River. Thomas is pictured holding three mink furs from his fur trading days.
