Funding extended

At the March 12 meeting, Delburne council passed a motion that approved the Amended MSI Agreement with the Provincial Government under the Municipal Sustainability Initiative (MSI) that would see the municipality receive both operating and capital funding extended through to March 31, 2022.

Last year the village received $219,233 in capital funding.

Village Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Karen Fegan declined to provide the amounts the village is expected to receive.

Discussion continued on the proposed update of the village website.

Some of the changes include adding photos of council members, contact information and images of Main Street and its businesses.

Additional links would be added as well.

“Will council preview the finished update before it goes live?” Coun. Daphne Warner asked.

Council concluded the discussion by passing a motion to proceed with the updates to the website which administration will approve before going live.

Lake development

Council learned that Red Deer County, through the Intermunicipal Development Plan (IDP), will conduct the mapping required for approximately five proposed acres just outside Delburne Village limits for the proposed development of a recreation area involving Delburne lake.

Details of the development are yet to be announced.
