Former student Sydney Usselman giving a presentation at HPS on her experience with Chemical Engineering. ECA Review/Submitted

Hughenden Public School (HPS) was honoured to welcome back a former graduate as a presenter for our current Chemistry students.

Sydney Usselman, a former student at HPS, generously came and gave a carefully polished presentation on chemical engineering and her journey with it.

Susan Reynolds, the HPS High School Sciences teacher, was excited to include a presentation from a former student to liven up her class.

“It is always fantastic to have Wildcat alumni visit our building! Sydney finishes her University degree this spring. Also valuable were the tips to be successful as a student, and the important life skills that Syd emphasized.”

When asked if Usselman had been a hard working student, Kimberly Hoyt, HPS English teacher replied, “Yes, she worked really hard and was always looking for perfection. I’m so impressed with her dedication and drive.”

So keep working hard and do your best in school, and you may be invited to speak as a mentor too!
