Forestburg village council
Forestburg village council approved the request from Economic Development Intern, Shallon Welsh, at their last regular meeting on June 1, to host a summer fair during the month of July under the condition that costs do not exceed the current operating budget for Community Development.
Welsh will also conduct further research into establishing a business incubator site which includes setting out the potential spaces, costs and ramifications of setting up a business incubator site and will return a report to council at a future meeting.
Street closure
Council approved the request to close 46th Ave. from 48th St. to 49th St. on July 9, 2016 to provide barricades for the annual swim meet.
Four-way stop
A four-way stop will be installed at the intersection of 49th Ave. and 49th St. pending the completion of the road repairs and monitoring of activity at that intersection.
Alternate fire practice site
The Forestburg fire department is to stop practicing all vehicle extrication and fire suppression in the current location of Plan 310HW; Lot D (the site of the main sewer lift station and natural gas station) until an alternate site that is away from residential properties can be found.
BMO bollards
Council approved the BMO’s request to install five bollards in front of the bank located at 4816 – 50 Street with the proviso that any damages caused by the installation or de-installation, to municipal infrastructure be the responsibility of BMO.
