Consort RCMP have laid charges after a five-week-long investigation and with the assistance of the ALERT Regional Property Crime Unit in relation to property crime offences.
As a result of the investigation, an adult male was arrested for possession of stolen property at an acreage near Fleet on March 19, 2021
A search warrant was obtained and subsequently executed.
The search of the property and multiple outbuildings resulted in the seizure of stolen copper wire, stolen electrical attachments and fittings, bolt cutters, chain saw and tools for stripping copper wire and stripped wire casings and a firearm.
Randall (Randy) James Lawrence (37) of Fleet, Alta. has been charged with Possession of property obtained by crime; Possession of break in instruments; Fail to comply with Undertaking; Unauthorized possession of firearm and Unlawful storage of firearm.
Lawrence has been released from custody and will be appearing in Coronation Provincial Court on April 9, 2021.
