Fatal off-road vehicle rollover

A six year old female died as a result of injuries sustained in a rollover in the Altario district on August 27, 2013 at approximately 5 p.m.

The female was a passenger in a Polaris four-wheel ATV that rolled over, Consort RCMP investigation revealed. Two other occupants of the vehicle were treated and released.

The name of the deceased is not being released.

Investigation is ongoing at this time.

Man struck by train near Trochu

A man was found seriously injured by railroad tracks near Trochu on August 31.

Three Hills RCMP responded to the call by a CN crew member at 12:15 p.m., and subsequent investigation found that a 20 year old Calgary man was intoxicated and walking on or near the railroad tracks several hours prior to being struck by a train. The man lay injured near the tracks until CN crews discovered him between six to 11 hours later.

The injured male was transported to Three Hills Health Center by ground ambulance, then flown by STARS air ambulance to Calgary Foothills Hospital.

The male sustained serious injuries but was declared to be in stable condition.
