Fatal motor vehicle versus pedestrian collision

On November 4th, 2012, at approximately 5:45 p.m., the Beiseker RCMP were dispatched to a motor vehicle vs. pedestrian collision on Highway 21 between Carbon and Beiseker, Alberta. Police believe that the Victim’s vehicle, a 1995 Plymouth Voyager, broke down in the southbound of Highway 21; the male victim was struck by a northbound motor vehicle after he exited the stalled van and walked across the roadway. The 45-year old victim, from Didsbury, Alberta, was transported to Three Hills Hospital with critical injuries, however he later succumbed to his injuries.

Highway 21 was closed temporarily following the collision but has since been re-opened.
Police will not be releasing the name of the decease male at this time. The investigation into  this collision continues; charges against the driver of the northbound vehicle are not being considered.
