It is with heavy hearts that we are announcing the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Clifford Cyril Ekman at the age of 83.
Cliff was born in Fleet, Alta. to Louis and Marion Ekman.
He left home to start working doing farming, which eventually took him to Okotoks, Alta. for a few years, then he tried his hand at logging with Richard and Alfred.
Cliff made his way to the original Sheerness Coal Mine for several years. During this time he met the love of his life Pauline and in July of 1967 they where married.
Shortly after that they started a family. They moved to Coronation in 1968 when Cliff found his true passion in the petroleum industry where he started operating with L.L. & E., then moving to a Provincial Field Foreman with Omega Hydrocarbons for 26 years.
Cliff then became a contract operator with Kobi Resources until his retirement in 2016 to enjoy spending time with Pauline and family.
Cliff leaves behind his wife of 54 years Pauline; children Dale (Stacy) of Drayton Valley, Karen (Chris) Erickson of Calgary, and Tyler of Coronation; three grandchildren: Levi Ekman, Chloe Ekman and Paige Erickson.
Also siblings: George (Joan), Christina, Richard (Darlene), Phyllis Engel, Percy (Bernice), Emily Truman, and sister-in-law Sherry Ekman.
Cliff was predeceased by his parents Louis and Marion; brothers: Art, Rodney and Harry and brothers-in-law Alfred Engel and Richard Truman.
A Celebration of Life for Cliff will be held at a later date.
Memorial donations in memory of Cliff may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
