May 07, 1925 – Feb. 21, 2018
Ken was born at home on his parents farm near McCord, Sk.
As a child he attended Pebble Hill School and helped on his parents farm. He worked for other farmers in the area when he grew older.
Later he went to Ontario and worked in the mines, helped build the Hope-Princeton Highway and also worked on a dairy farm in B.C.
He met Dolores about 1945 and they were married Nov. 15, 1948 at LaFleche, Sk. and left for Alberta shortly after.
Ken and Dolores worked west of Calgary for eight years, one year for Tom Bateman and seven years for Percy Copithorne. They lived for two years near Queenstown before moving to Veteran area in 1959.
Ken and Dolores lived and worked on the X Bar X (McMorris) ranch southwest of Veteran for 25 years and raised their family there until 1984 when they semi-retired and moved into Veteran.
Ken and Dolores loved to disc, floor curl and attend dances in the community.
He always had a garden where ever he lived, even planting tomatoes in his flower bed at the Seniors Manor in Coronation. He loved to play cards with his family and friends and belonged to the Seniors club in both Veteran and Coronation. Cribbage and 500 were his favourite games.
He was predeceased by his wife Dolores (2008) and his daughter Lorraine (2013), parents Harris (Slim) and Mae, siblings – Francis, Lloyd, Doris, Grace, Beulah and half brother Ian.
