Drumheller RCMP and partners arrest four after drug investigation

Drumheller General Investigation Section assisted by other RCMP units conducted an investigation into drug trafficking activities in Drumheller, between September and November of 2022. As a result of the investigation, evidence was obtained that led to the arrest of four suspects on Nov. 3, 2022.

Drumheller RCMP executed a search warrant on Nov. 3, 2022 at two residences in the Town of Drumheller, as well as search warrants on two vehicles. As a result of the search warrants the following was found. A quantity of suspected methamphetamine, quantity of Canadian currency, prohibited weapons x 2 (Butterfly knives), shotgun ammunition and stolen property from nine victims.

Steven Dixon (43), a resident of Drumheller, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of a prohibited weapon, two counts of Breach of an Undertaking and possession of stolen property.

Dixson will be appearing in Drumheller Provincial court on Dec. 9, 2022.

Justin Lenfesty (32), a resident of Drumheller, has been charged with eight counts of possession of stolen property, and three counts of Breach of Probation Order.

Lenfesty will be appearing in Drumheller Provincial court on Nov. 25, 2022.

Justine Carruthers (33), a resident of Drumheller, has been charged with eight counts of possession of stolen property. She will be appearing in Drumheller Provincial court on Dec. 9, 2022.

A fourth individual was arrested but later released with no charges pending further investigation.
