The crowd gathered round to celebrate the grand opening of the Big Valley Vintage Tool and Collectibles Museum on May 29. Rod Miller (left on scooter), who donated his massive collection of tools to the Big Valley Historical Society for the museum, cuts the cake at the ceremony with one of the tools from his collection while Bill Smillie, president of the Big Valley Historical Society and to his right Big Valley Mayor Lois Miller who is also a member of the society watch.
Always ready to tell a story about each tool, Miller asked the crowd, “Does anyone know what this is for?” Turns out, it’s an antique hay knife but cuts cake pretty well. ECA Review/D.Johnston
