Dear Editor,
It is interesting how people of like minds in some things (belief in God, Christ’s salvation) can differ so greatly in their observations.
I read an article about President Joe Biden being a God fearing man of humility and thought… ‘That is not the Joe Biden I observe on the news’.
Sure he attends church regularly but church attendance does not automatically translate into Christianity.
My interpretation of the Bible says that a God fearing man would not approve of abortion on demand and if in position of authority would not approve the funding of abortion wherever desired.
He would not enrich himself and his family through his position, he would not subserve his country to China and the World Health Organization (WHO).
President Trump on appearances did not meet the guidelines of a God fearing man but was pro life and pro Israel.
Jimmy Carter was another God fearing man but not enough to heed God’s word “ I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you,” referring to Israel.
He also held the title of most incompetent president until the present. That title is in jeopardy with Joe in the running.
President Carter presided over the Iran hostage crisis where Iran held the American hostages for 444 days.
The hostages were released minutes after President Reagan was sworn into office.
President Reagan also presided over the tearing down of the Berlin Wall and the dismantling of the Soviet Union.
He fired the air traffic controllers who thought that drawing on President Carter’s weakness they could face down President Reagan. They were wrong. This started the era of Reagan economics which resulted in economic recovery and the realization that big government was not the solution but a big part of the problem.
A sad lesson that Canada and the USA seem determined to learn again.
Those of us who are older are seeing again how government is the problem, just as Reagan said.
The Liberals prorogued the Canadian Parliament, have not presented a budget for two years, have spent foolishly and dared the opposition parties to defeat their minority government as they know the handout dependant electorate will return them to power.
The Americans are no better as they watch the Biden Democrats acquiesce to the teachers unions and throw money into the sinkhole of “infrastructure spending” of which only five per cent of spending is slated for infrastructure, the rest for social engineering.
Both governments need a lesson in Reaganomics as they are setting us up for hyperinflation and high-interest rates as we saw in the 1980’s.
The Biden Democrats used mail in ballots with no voter identification verification to win the Presidency and with HR1 Plan, (a 791 page Democratic plant to rewrite how elections are regulated in the US), to enshrine the process, hardly the actions of a God fearing man.
The ‘woke and cancel culture’ people are currently running the show but if the faithful follow the instructions laid out in 2 Corinthians 7:14 things will change.
