Kristi’s six year battle with cancer came to a peaceful end at her home south west of Big Valley, Alta. on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2024. From the time of her diagnoses right up until her death Kristi maintained a positive outlook on life.
She devoted her shortened life to loving and caring for her kids and her extended family. Her kid’s hockey was her passion in the winter, their soccer was her passion in the spring, camping and backpacking with her family was her passion in the summer.
She found her peace spending time with her many animals on her acreage in the rolling hills next to the Red Deer River Valley.
Kristi was the most outgoing person that I have met, she absolutely refused to let this horrible disease drag her down. She will be forever loved and greatly missed.
Kristi is survived by her mom Patricia Ann; husband Mike; son Justin (Christina); daughters: Grace, Emma, Amanda and Stephanie; grandchildren Madden and Deklan; sisters Julie (John) and Sherri (Tony); brothers Dennis and Dale (Barbara); as well as other relatives and many dear friends.
Kristi is predeceased by her dad Robert Alfred DeVita and her sister Victoria Jane.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. Memorial donations in Kristi’s name are gratefully accepted to the Canadian Cancer Society, 200-325 Manning Road, NE Calgary, AB. T2E 9Z9.
