Dear Editor,
Recent events in the USA have put me in mind of another great leader who rose to power in the last century. He had a great hatred of the democrats among other things and promised the people renewed prosperity, maybe even to make the country great again.
There was an assassination attempt on him too, but he rose up off the stage, concrete floor or whatever, relatively unharmed save for his perforated eardrum after the bomb. I’m not sure if it was his right, left or both ears which were damaged.
The country was Germany and the party he represented was the Nazis.
As bad as this analogy may be, it gets even worse than that.
If you get out your Holy Bible you can read in Thessalonians II, 2, about the rise of the lawless one and the lie and the truth.
In my opinion, the King of Liars is now on the stage and democratic freedom is in jeopardy.
We have a convicted criminal aspiring to be president of the most powerful nation on earth. The people supporting this person, in my opinion, are under a great delusion.
My daughter made a walking cane many years ago at Daily Vacation Bible School (DVBS). Inscribed on the side of it were the words “Leaning on Jesus”.
It seems to me many people aren’t leaning on Jesus these days. It seems they have decided to choose ‘Barabbus’.
Whoever has an eye let him see, whoever has an ear let him hear, whoever has a tongue let him speak, whoever has a mind let him know the truth.
