Castor Council voted in favour of a 2020 Calgary Flames versus Edmonton Oilers Alumni game during their May 28 regular meeting, a fundraiser for the Recreation Board.
The Castor Recreation Board hopes that the 2020 fundraiser, which is still in very early stages of planning, will be just as, if not more, successful than the recent Toronto Maple Leafs Alumni game that was held in February. The recent fundraiser raised just over $30,000.
Money raised will go towards the Castor Arena renovation project.
Council code of conduct
The Council Code of Conduct bylaw passed its third and final reading. Previously, the town had a code of conduct policy in place, but with the passing of the new bylaw that policy will be repealed.
According to the amended Municipal Government Act, all municipalities will need to develop a code of conduct before July, 2018.
