Coronation RCMP received a report of a vehicle in the ditch and suspicious activity in the County of Paintearth on March 1, 2022.

The incident was reported to Coronation RCMP due to recent property crime in the area.

The three suspects were observed leaving the vehicle on foot and community members watched them at a distance.

Checks on the vehicle showed that it was stolen out of Lacombe County two days prior.

Coronation RCMP members were able to intercept the three suspects and arrest them without incident.

As a result of the investigation, Coronation RCMP have charged David Glasier (42) of Coronation was charged with: Failing to comply with his house arrest (x5) and Possession of Stolen Property over $5,000.

Amanda Metro (35) of Red Deer was charged with Possession of Stolen Property over $5,000.

In a small community, the problems associated with property-related crimes are amplified.

“As part of our Rural Crime Reduction Strategy we encourage members of the public/businesses to report suspicious activity. Although we don’t encourage members of the public to get involved personally in this incident their observations were critical in locating and arresting the suspects.”

Members of the public who want to report suspect suspicious activity or property-related crime in their community can call local police, or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Crime Stoppers is always anonymous.
