Coronation curler collects awards

A bronze medal was not the newest honour awarded to Coronation curler Brad Schroeder Mar. 23 – 26 in London, Ontario where he attended the National Curling Championship at Fanshawe College with Augustana Vikings Men’s Curling teammates Ben Bates (lead) of Vermillion, Andrew Klassen (second) of La Crete, Ab. and Colton Simard (third) of Chauvin as well as coach Roger Galenza.

The team, who was skipped by Schroeder was also honoured with the CCAA National Championship Fair Play Award for their outstanding sportsmanship on the ice during the closing ceremonies.

Head Coach Roger Galenza was  also given the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association’s Curling Coach of the Year Award.

The accolades do not stop there. Schroeder was also selected as the 2015-16 Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Men’s Curling Player of the Year.

His past achievements include an ACAC Championship banner in 2012-13 while in his first year as skip of the mixed curling team as well as being named to the ACAC All-Conference Team and Augustana Athletics’ Rookie of Year Award that same year.
