Members of the community came forward during the meeting on Thurs. Jan 12 to discuss their concerns regarding what is happening with the library.

Eight years ago the building was marked as being in critical condition so having the building fixed or doing a rebuild is something that needs to be done.

“We got the paperwork that it is structurally failed so if it does fall down and someone gets hurt we are liable for it,” said Mayor Jul Bissel.

The full report will be made available to the public.

“In six months we can come up with a plan, if we are going to fix the library it is going to take time,” said Bissel.

Volunteer award committee

After the successfully well-attended celebration honouring Queen Platinum Jubilee medal award winner Anna Mose council has decided for a committee to be formed to create a community volunteer award.

“It’s something we should do to try and get more involvement in the community,” said Bissel.

Council decided to contact Mose to see if she would assist with the creation of the committee.

Snow blower decommissioned

Public Works attempted to get the snow blower which was made in the 1960s’ in running order to use for the skating rink but given its age and condition the attempt was unsuccessful.

The snow blower was taken to Horn Hills for disposal.

The disposal of the asset was approved unanimously.
