Dot passed away at Coronation Hospital surrounded by her loving family on Sun. July 9, 2017 at the age of 81.
She will be lovingly remembered by her six children. Linda (Paul) Fisher, Marge Twa, Dan (Monica) Clements, Tom (Sue) Clements, Darlene (Trevor) Haduik, Janice (Terry) Couturier, 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
She is also remembered by one sister Doreen Bamber and one brother David (Faye) Smith.
Dot was predeceased by her husband Reg in 2015, her parents Russel and Ella Mae Smith, her in-laws Tom and Elizabeth Clements, sister Mabel, brothers Ron and Keith, daughter-in-law Terry Clements, and grandson TJ Clements.
Dot was born on May 24, 1936 in Vermilion, Ab. She was the second oldest of six children.
In 1958 Dot moved to Edmonton and started her career in hairdressing.
After spending a few years in Edmonton, Dot and Reg moved to Red Deer where they lived until 1967, then moved to Coronation with six kids in tow where they lived for 30 years.
Dot did hair for a number of years. She had many interests including involvement with the Royal Purple, Oil Wives and ceramics to name a few. Her more personal interests included sewing and doing crafts for her grandchildren.
Dot and Reg retired and moved back to Red Deer where they lived until Reg’s passing in 2015.
Dot returned to Coronation where she lived until her passing.
