Clifford Blake Clausen

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Clifford Blake Clausen of Stettler, beloved husband of Joyce Clausen, who passed away at the Red Deer Hospital early morning of Dec. 22, 2024, at the age of 84.
Blake was born to Alma and Andrew Clausen in 1940 at Castor Hospital.
Blake was welcomed by his older brother Norman and was the final addition to the family of four.
Growing up on the family farm in the Hacket area, north of Byemoor, when time allowed, he mostly enjoyed playing ball, hockey and was a very active member of the local 4-H club for many years.
At age 21 he married Joyce Mary Reeves on June 1, 1962 in Drumheller. Together they built their life in the Leo area north of Byemoor, where they raised four children and worked hard to build the dairy and beef mixed farming operation which was their beloved home for 62 years.
In the spring of 2024, the heart wrenching decision was made, and the farm was sold, with plans to retire in Stettler.
Blake is survived by this loving wife Joyce; his children Renee McCarty, Sherry (Robert) Clausen, Gerald (Darcy) Clausen and Dennis Clausen; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Bernice Clausen; brother in-law Ken (Marcella) Reeves; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Blake is pre-deceased by brother Norman Clausen; brothers-in-law Gerald Reeves and Lawrence Reeves.
A Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025 at 2 p.m. at the Byemoor Community Hall, Byemoor, Alta.
