Dennis Chartier
April 10. 1956 – Dec. 21, 2023

Leopold Dennis Joseph Chartier was born April 10, 1956 in Birtle, Man.  He grew up on the farm near Reeder, Man.  And graduated high school in 1974, then moved to Alberta to join his brother Henry to work in the oilfield.

Throughout his life, Dennis enjoyed travelling to various places and spending time at the lake in Manitoba.

Alongside his career in the oilfield, Dennis became a certified butcher.

In 2015, Dennis finished working with M & N Construction.  He always managed to stay in touch with the crew as there was always someone boarding at his place that worked there.

Dennis had a love for life and enjoyed the company of his family and friends.  He had many lifelong friends that were like family.

In March of 2021, Dennis moved into long term care in Coronation and lived there until his passing on Dec 21, 2023.

Dennis is survived by his four sisters Bernadette McDougall, Patricia Edgerton, Aline (Charles) Deschambault, Madeline (Terry) Stonehouse; brother Ronnie (Cindy) Chartier, as well as many numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his mother Julia Chartier, brother Henry Chartier and Henry’s companion Colleen Harris, brother-in-laws Denny Edgerton and Keith McDougall.

A celebration of life was held on Fri. Jan. 12, 2024 at 2 p.m. in the Coronation Community Hall, Coronation, Alta. with Pastor Clayton Grice officiating.

Memorial contributions in Dennis’ memory may be made to the Coronation Health Care Foundation, Long Term Care, Mail Bag 500, Coronation, Alta. T0C 1C0.
